Iolaus' Path by Ayelet [This story takes place right after Hercules and Iolaus' first meeting in Hercules' back yard after Hercules' family was killed. The episode is "The Wrong Path". Iolaus came to call on Hercules, and found out about his family loss. Iolaus wanted to help Herc, but Herc would not let him. Iolaus explains to Herc that his warning about the end of the world could bring him real trouble from one of the other Guardians, Michael, who is the one releasing the Horsemen. Even though he knows he can't stay long, Iolaus works together with Hercules and, yes, even Ares to stop Michael and the Horsemen from bringing about The End.

Iolaus: [shoves him again] Well, let me tell you something, buddy. Hercules is the best friend I ever had. Hercules is the best friend I ever had. And yeah, you're right, he wouldn’t want us to risk our necks to save him, which is exactly why we're going to. Iolaus in Charlton T. Heracles defeats this nasty creature with the help of his nephew Iolaus (who was also Heracles' eromenos, or boy lover). When Heracles slices off one of the Hydra's heads, Iolaus cauterizes the stub with a flaming torch, which keeps the head from growing back. Black Dandy. likes.
